Test Application on AC Contactor

AC contactor is a switching device which uses electromagnetic force and spring elastic force to connect and break contacts to control the on-off of load circuit. It is suitable for frequent operation and long-distance control. It is an important component of automatic control circuit system. With the growth of national economic demand and power industry, the demand for AC contactors continues to grow, and competition is increasingly fierce. In order to ensure product quality, the testing of AC contactors is particularly important.

Following will take AC contactor test requirements as an example to introduce AC contactor test scheme in detail.
Before starting the test, we first understand its working principle: when the AC contactor's attraction coil is electrified, the static iron core produces electromagnetic attraction, the armature is absorbed, and the connecting rod connected with the armature drives the contact action, so that the normally closed contacts are disconnected, and the often open contacts are closed, both of them are linked, and the contactor is in the electrified state; When the coil is cut off, the electromagnetic suction disappears, the armature is released under the action of spring, which makes the normally closed contacts closed, the often open contacts disconnected, and the contactor is in a state of power loss.

The client test requirements are as follows:

1. ON/OFF test: Set ON/OFF AC voltage (rated voltage), starting angle 90 degrees, termination angle 0 degrees, ON/OFF twice, and finally OFF.
2. Characteristic test: setting voltage (rated voltage), starting angle 30 and termination angle 90 and output ON. Read peak current immediately, delay 500 ms, read and maintain current, maintain power consumption, and finally OFF.
3. Suction voltage test: first set the suction start voltage (20% of rated voltage), output to ON, then every 200 ms, the voltage rises in accordance with 5V step up to suction, read the suction voltage, and finally output OFF.
4. Release Voltage Test: First set the release starting voltage (rated voltage), output to ON, set the release voltage (rated voltage 68%) and then every 200 ms, the voltage descends according to 5V step to read the release voltage after release; finally output the OFF.

Among them:
Test requirements 1,2, can be achieved by the panel setting function of ADMIRE POWER standard AC power supply APA1000 series . This function can be set voltage, frequency, starting phase angle and terminating phase angle. The range of setting phase angle is 0-360.

Test requirements 3,4, can be achieved through the ADMIRE POWER standard AC power APA1000 series power supply internal test group, the function can be set up 35 test points to set the starting voltage value, termination voltage value, step voltage value, start frequency, termination frequency and single step time, so that the power supply voltage and time Frequency varies in a step-by-step fashion. If the 35 test points are not enough, the intelligent AC power supply APA2000 series (touch screen display) can provide five test groups, each of which has 35 test points, and each test point can set different voltage, frequency and time.
